MEMBERSHIP

A) Individual Membership (students, local and abroad):

  • Individual membership is available to all wildlife managers, scientists, conservationists and decision-makers in the field of conservation and wildlife.
  • Members receive a hard copy of the association's publications: the South African Journal of Wildlife Research.
  • Members also receive electronic news circulars, "SAWMA Matters", on a regular basis.
  • Members have access to the online version of the South African Journal of Wildlife Research. Authentication is arranged via User ID and Password.
  • The password is renewed annually and provided to all paid up members.
  • All individual members are eligible for office and qualify to vote.
  • SAWMA members qualify for lower Symposium registration rates as well as a discount on page fees for publications in the South African Journal of Wildlife Research. (@R200/page)

    B) Institutional Membership (Local and abroad):

  • These include institutions, e.g. libraries, universities and research organizations that would like to receive the association's publications through direct subscription.
  • Provided with subscription to the hard copy of the association's publications: the South African Journal of Wildlife Research and annual News Bulletin.
  • Have access to the online version of the journal. Authentication is arranged via User ID and Password.
  • The password is renewed annually and provided to all paid up members.
  • Are NOT eligible for office and do not qualify to vote.
  • Do not qualify for lower Symposium registration rates or a 50% discount on page fees for publications in the
        South African Journal of Wildlife Research.

    MEMBERSHIP FEES for 2011

    Local Ordinary Members: R360/annum
    Local Institutional Members: R680/annum
    Student Members: R180/annum
    Foreign Ordinary Members: $US 98/annum
    Foreign Institutional Members: $US 205/annum

    Published numbers of the South African Journal of Wildlife Research for the current year will be supplied to new members.
    Back numbers for previous years may be ordered (if stock is available) at a cost of R50-00 per issue number.
